County Cruisers Bicycle Group

Join us for the next CC breakfast, February 11, at Wohlners grocery in AkSarBen Village

Omaha’s Oldest Recumbent Bicycle club – Since 1986 and still going strong!!!

The County Cruisers is a group of recumbent bicyclists. The Cruisers ride the second Saturday of every spring, summer and fall month.  No dues, no meetings, just a nice monthly ride. March, April, May, September, October and November rides are at 9:00 a.m., and June, July and August they start at 8:00 a.m.

For information on the starting point check the “Next Ride” page or contact Armand at (402) 553-4472, or email armandg@cox.net.

You can show up any time we have a scheduled ride, but if you’d like reminders before each ride send an email to me (armandg@cox.net). Most people find the reminders very convenient.

For Sale

Jan G. and Bill H. brought our attention to a beautiful power-assisted trike the Bike Way has for sale.  It truly is beautiful.  It’s a Sun T3 CX  worth $1699, and the BionX motor and battery are worth an additional $1895.  The mirrors and labor setup were extra.  It only has about 30 miles on it.  Shortly after buying it the original owner went to assisted living.  They are willing to sell it for $2500.  A good deal.  If you’re interested, give the Bike Way a call and you can have a test ride.  The Bike Way is at 15115 Industrial Road and their phone number is 402 392-2390.  Tell them you heard about it from the County Cruisers.

Check out Ric’s site, Ricumbent News (www.iBikeNebraska.com).  Ric puts together some longer tours – sometimes two or three day camping tours.

The Cruisers have a membership list with pictures and email addresses so you can email each other when you are looking for someone to ride with between the Cruisers’ “official” rides.  Go to http://prairiebreezegraphics.com/cruisers.html.  Sweep over the http: address and copy and paste it into your browsers’ URL.  You will have to log in.

Will we ride, or won’t we?  Here are the guidelines for the day of the rides:

No ride if it’s below 65 and raining (drizzle can be tolerated if it looks temporary) at the start time; no ride if it’s raining cats and dogs, no ride if it’s below 30 degrees.  Check the “next ride” page for any updates, or email Armand at armandg@cox.net.

The guidelines apply to all rides at starting time. If you’re not sure if there will be a ride, call Armand Gibbons at 553-4472.
